Quantitative Historical Linguistics


M.A. Peter Bouda

Peter Bouda finished his M.A. in 2007 at the Institute of General Linguistics and Language Typology at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich. He then worked as a software developer for Linguatec GmbH in Munich and later as a freelancer in software development for mobile phones.


Within the project "Quantitative Historical Linguistics" Peter Bouda is responsible for the development of the web application and the database design. His research focus is the design and usability of software used in linguistic research. He develops Python modules and applications that allow linguists to annotate and analyze their data. In his free time he still develops software for mobile phones based on the Qt framework.
